Matarangi is a place that is a little special to me, I go there with my family for holidays each year. Which is why it was just meant to be when Holly & Geoff asked if I would photograph their wedding for them in just that spot!
The day started off, well... with just a tiny bit of rain....something a little like a monsoon.....
When I walked into the reception marquee, I was breath taken! It looked so beautiful! All the everything was just amazing. Geoff actually built all the tables himself. What a keeper!
I could have spent a morning just here. But off we went to see how the girls were doing. They were pretty relaxed!
Then disaster struck! A slight wardrobe malfunction was attended to by, well everyone! Many hands make light work so they say.
So while all that was going on we decided to keep the show going.
About 1 hour before the ceremony the rain slowed to normal, then stopped altogether 30 mins before! Couldn't have planned it better!
There were a few threatening clouds but all stayed dry. Even when the ring got stuck it was all taken in stride. Awesome.
This bunch of fun people needed no instructing here. Perfect placement around this sign. I loved the big balloons that were here too. Such attention to detail!
There was a really magical moment while we were in the forrest. Right above us a Monarch butterfly was swooping around in the sunlight. A sign!
We had just enough time to get a few shots on the beach. The guys walking out like something from Men in Black! Then back to the reception.
Lots of laughs a few moments and an amazing Haka done by some of the boys!
They were well and truly into the swing of things, Holly even put on some special shoes for the occasion. And we managed to sneak them off under the promise of only 5 photos before we went. So glad they did! And it was 5 photos as the rain started up again!
Thank you so much. We had a blast! All the best for the future.
